Amendment summary
Lord Sharpe of Epsom moved, as an amendment to the motion, at end to insert “but that this House regrets that the draft Code of Practice will expand the scope of paid facility time for trade union equality representatives without sufficient evidence that this will improve workplace outcomes; risks increasing costs and administrative burdens on public sector employers at a time of persistently weak public sector productivity; and fails to demonstrate that requiring taxpayers fund additional staff time for equality, diversity, and inclusion activity represents an effective or proportionate use of public money.”
